Optical Flow Based on Combined Gabor Filters
OPEN ACCESS
We shall present a frequential method to calculate optical flow based on spatio-temporal Gabor filters, inspired from the architecture of Heeger introduced in 1987 . This method, named combined filtering, associates filters of different selectivities. A previous determination of the moving regions permits, in the case of a fixed camera, to reduce the estimation errors. We show how to automatically integrate the estimation results for three levels of a spatial pyramid in order to extend the domain of the allowed velocities. We propose also an efficient numerical implementation exploiting the temporal and spatial symetries of the 3D Gabor filters.
