Abstract: 

This article states of the art about tools and techniques for images documents analysis and recognition.From common used processings to the logical layout extraction,it surveys the different means employed for modelling and recognition. Then it discusses about the knowledge to be exploited for designing an understanding system able to extract all,or parts of,information from documents images.This information only makes sense in a well-defined context and according to an expressed intention.

Résumé

Cet article propose de dresser un panorama des outils et techniques mis en place pour la reconnaissance d'images de documents. Depuis les pré-traitements jusqu'à l'extraction de la structure logique,il balaie les différents moyens de reconnaissance et de modélisation des contenus pour ensuite discuter des connaissances exploitables pour construire un système d'interprétation permettant d'extraire tout ou partie des informations contenues dans l'image,sachant que ces informations n'ont de sens que dans un contexte bien défini et suivant une intention exprimée.
